Strict Liability

What is Strict Liability?

Strict liability (otherwise known as Absolute Liability) is an area of liability that does not require proof of fault. Put another way, once a specific action or omission has occurred, there is no defense for any resultant claim for loss, damage or injury. Strict liability offences are often regulatory offences aimed at businesses in relation to health and safety.
